Almost every student house in Hyde Park sits inside LS6, framed by Hyde Park Corner to the south, Woodhouse Moor ("Hydey") to the east, and Cardigan Road to the west. It's the closest properly residential student area to both universities, which is why groups of 4, 5, 6 and 7 tend to move here for second and third year.

The streets we let on most often are Brudenell Road, Brudenell Grove, Ash Grove, Chestnut Avenue, Hyde Park Road, Queen's Road, Cardigan Road, Harold Grove and Royal Park Road. Terraces here are typically three-storey, back-to-back or through-terrace, with two reception rooms downstairs and a cellar — so it's easy to fit five or six friends without living on top of each other.

Walk times to campus are short: Parkinson Building is around 10 minutes from Hyde Park Corner, and Leeds Beckett's Headingley campus is a similar 10-15. The 1 and 6 buses run down Cardigan Road and Woodhouse Lane every few minutes if you'd rather not walk in the rain.

For nightlife and food, you've got the Brudenell Social Club, Hyde Park Picture House, Bakery 164, Doner Summer and the strip of takeaways on Hyde Park Corner all on your doorstep. Sainsbury's on Cardigan Road handles the weekly shop.

Rent for student houses in Hyde Park typically runs from around £140 pppw for larger 6 and 7 bed houses on Chestnut Avenue and Ash Grove, up to £170 pppw for smaller, higher-spec 3 and 4 bed houses closer to the corner. Only Leeds City Centre apartments sit above Hyde Park on price.
