Leeds Beckett's city campus is a 5-10 minute walk from almost every one of these buildings. The University of Leeds is a 15-minute walk up Woodhouse Lane, or a couple of stops on the free CityBus. The train station and coach station are both under 10 minutes on foot, which makes trips home effortless.

This is the option that suits taught postgrads, mature students, PhDs and couples more than first- or second-year undergrads. You get a lift, a concierge in most buildings, decent glazing, and no cellar full of bikes — but the trade-off is a higher £ pppw and less garden.

Nightlife is genuinely on your doorstep: the Corn Exchange, Call Lane, Granary Wharf, Trinity Kitchen and every gym chain in the city are within a five-minute walk. Grocery covers Sainsbury's on Kirkgate, M&S in Trinity and the Kirkgate Market for produce.
